   This one actually made me truly appreciate my Blackburn Delphi 4.0, even for all its own issues, it was so much better than this one. This one takes forever to sync after going to sleep and sometimes never does, almost always have to hit a button to wake it up. I’ve tried adjusting the sensor distance and gap, that’s not the issue. What is really awful is the accuracy and slow pace of updates. This reads ONLY IN .5 MPH INCREMENTS! That means accuracy is +/- .5 mph or AS MUCH AS A FULL 1 MPH! Furthermore, updates seem to be infrequent, as is obvious when braking. I’ll be at a dead stop for 3-4 seconds before it reads 0 mph. If you are a cyclist who seriously uses a cyclometer for feedback, this one is useless. There is no good way to tell if the gear change or extra effort you just put in are getting you any acceleration… things that are almost intuitive with the Blackburn, which reads to .1 mph and seems to update real-time. Oh, and those godawful rubber bands for mounting… Sure they are easy… until you screw up and one goes flying never to be seen again… And when you are done, the head unit swivels around the handlebars requiring adjustment constantly. This is really only a good cyclometer for casual users and kids. I would never recommend it to anyone who has a serious need for real-time and accurate performance feedback. I will be buying a Blackburn Delphi again soon. Even if it dies again after a year (note, a year for me is 8000-10000 miles, so expect yours to last longer), it’s a better deal because it does the job I need. This one is just a waste of handlebar space.

   At first this speedometer worked poorly, if at all — the display showed that it only occasionally connected with the sending unit, so all results were bad. I had tried repositioning both parts exactly per the instructions, but nothing worked. I was about to send it back, but called tech support. “Randy” told me to check the battery in the sending unit. They evidently had a bad batch of Mitsubishi batteries, and that is what I found. When I replaced it with a new battery, everything worked fine.

   Now I find it easy to use, easy to read, and reliable.

   I’ve had this bike computer for some time and I can’t quite relate to all the complaints about it! Sure there’s an elastic band (an O ring) to hold the sensor but It works really quite well. At first I was afraid to stretch on it but it is quite strong and fits around my carbon fork which tends to be wide at the top. I like the fact I can switch it from bike to bike very easily. Perhaps some might have issues with MTBs and the sensor moving but for a road bike it is great. You can get the sensor quite close to the wheel without it moving while riding. I’ve never missed a signal once you spin the wheel a few times. Yes the instruction are sometime a bit shallow but once you got it, it’s a breeze. I give it a five star. I’m very happy with it. The only real negative I have is that switching from miles to km (or vice versa) does not convert your past results. I like to understand both but I must do my own conversions.

   I bought it about 3 months ago. I put it on my racing bicycle and surprise! It only works around 900km.
   
   In addition, the installation system has a very poor design, it is based on elastic bands!!
   
   The on/off system is really annoying, if you take a five minutes break the computer turns off (which is ok), however when you continue it doesn’t turn on! (I mean in a automatically way). So, if you are not taking care of it you never going to get a right reading.
   
   If you are looking for something better try a “topeak”. I have one on my mountain bicycle and works great even in hard weather conditions.

   Performs the basic functions but some of the features don’t seems to work all the time. The big issue is if you have a mountain bike with shocks, the mounting is a real pain. Also, the range rating from the sensor to the computer is a MAXIMUM. Mine would not work if I mouned the computor to the handle bars, had to mount done on the crossbar, makings it difficult to see while riding. But this issue is probably because of the way I had to mount the sensor because of the shocks. I will probably end up buying a different computer in the future.
