always give diameter in inches? Dont the manufacters of bike tires also makes bike computers, and if so why not some uniformity? or am i missing something here?

Yes. You are missing something.
Common sense. There are many different sizes of tires/wheels to accomodate all of the different styles of riding, the size of bikes, the size of riders, the use of each bike…etc…..
Along your line of thinking….why doesn’t Microsoft make tires???
DUH……because that is not what they do!!!!!

Tyre manufacturers are still in the dark ages and have not gone metric. I suppose that is something to do with the UK still using miles as a measure of distance.
